Body Talk
Stress isn’t, in and of itself, a bad thing. Stress motivates us to stop procrastinating, get our work done & push through to achieve our goals. It’s what makes us sit down and study for that final exam. In small doses and for a short time, stress is a good thing. It becomes a problem when we are under too much stress and when it’s constant.
It's very important that we pay attention to our bodies & listen to what our bodies are saying to us. I learned about 5 years ago, the hard way, how to listen to my body. Right after a team meeting I began feeling horrible. I was taken to the ER by my husband & diagnosed as having pneumonia. When speaking with my doctor I asked how could that have happened. She mentioned when I feel that I need rest I MUST stop to take rest. If I don't then my body will DECIDE that it needs rest. And that DECISION could lead to my being in the bed for 2 weeks. When I reflect on that time I was under extreme stress & constant anxiety.
Today, let's make a commitment to each other to listen to our bodies. I gift you a rose for making the commitment to listen to your body. :)
